Week 4 generates what could be the game of the year in the Big Rivers. The Cardinals are averaging 515 yards per game on offense with 3 running backs already over 300 yards. Add in that Chi Hi is also scoring at a 45 points per game clip could make for a high scoring, highly entertaining game. The Tigers are an incredibly fast team led by RB Austyn Wittek. In 3 quarters last week against Superior, Wittek rushed for 220 yards on only 12 carries. In the Tiger's 48-14 win against Stevens Point in Week 2, Wittek tallied 4 TDs rushing and 2 more receiving. With the focus by defenses on the running game, QB Preston Hidde has been extremely efficient, completing 14 of 16 passes, making the Tiger offense almost unstoppable. Winner still has to go through Hudson for the Big Rivers title.

This non-conference match-up of two of the top D6 schools in the state could be epic. Edgar lost 6-3 to perennial state powerhouse Stratford in Week 2. The offense may be off to a slow start but that Stratford touchdown is the only score Edgar's defense has allowed this season. Mondovi has been as advertised on offense. A fast paced Buffalo attack, led by Jr. QB Bode Falkner, is averaging 44 points per game. As a sophomore, Falkner passed for over 2000 yards and ran for over 1000 while accounting for a combined 40 touchdowns. RB Cameron Gruber has 6 TDs on the ground and WR Beau Spindler has recorded 13 catches to take advantage of the defensive focus on Falkner. This game of contrasting styles will go a long way in determining whether this Mondovi team could win a state title this year.

The Mounders haven't roared out of the box like this in quite a while. While scoring over 40 points in each win this year, the combined record of their opponents has only been 1-8 so far. Elk Mound's offense is averaging 357 yards a game, but will that show up against a very good Regis defense. Once again the Ramblers are achieving success by committee. Good team speed and execution. Regis is led on offense by RB Noah Laber, but their versatile double wing attack grinds out ball control numbers that will keep possessions limited for Elk Mound.

The Mustangs gave notice to the Dairyland conference that they will be a title contender after shutting out Bangor in Week 1. QB Brady Blaken returns from a strong junior season to lead Mel-Min. The all purpose senior leads the team in passing and rushing and as he goes, so go the Mustangs. Pepin/Alma has been an offensive juggernaut for several seasons and this year is no exception. Through 3 games, the Eagles are averaging 51 points and 451 total yards on offense. RB Anders Seifert has already run for 512 yards and 8 touchdowns to spearhead the P/A attack. The Eagles almost never lose at home and that won't change this week.

Intriguing Dunn-St. Croix conference match-up. The Hilltoppers upset league favorite Boyceville 7-0 last week. Holding the Bulldogs scoreless surprised a lot of people and now shifted Glenwood City into a position to win the conference championship. Colfax ended a long losing streak with their Week 1 win over Augusta but dropped a tough game to Elmwood/Plum City last Friday to come back to Earth. The young Vikings know they can compete with any team in the league, and this week affords them the chance of ending a long conference losing streak as well as making themselves viable contenders in the Dunn-St. Croix.
