St. Croix Central waged a seesaw battle in their Level 4 game with Little Chute. Falling behind 13-0 in the first quarter was no cause for panic as the Panthers stayed with their midline option led by fullback Ryan Larson. Larson scored three times in the second period in get the lead back for the Panthers at 21-13. Little Chute closed within two points but an 86 yard burst up the middle by Larson pushed the lead to 28-19 and the Panthers were on their way to another state final. SCC takes on another unbeaten in Racine St. Catherine's at Madison. St. Cat's came from behind in their Level 4 game to beat Lakeside Lutheran 30-28. The Angels are led by QB Da'Shaun Brown, who leads the team in passing and rushing. His 25 TD passes and 20 rushing TDs make Brown one of the biggest offensive threats in the state. In the Level 4 game, however, the Angels were led by running back Isaiah Dodd. Dodd carried 37 times for 221 yards to gash a Lakeside Lutheran defense that was keyed on stopping Brown. The state final should be a wild one, with St. Cat's averaging 45 points per game and SCC averaging 42 points per game. St. Croix Central has been able to impose its will on every team they have faced this season and certainly the key to victory will again be whether the Panthers can control the ball and the clock with their rushing attack. Expect more of the same in the state title game.
