The UWEC Men's basketball team
has announced it's recruiting class for the 2007-2008 season. The athletes
include:
C- 6'7 (freshman) Amandou
Fofana ( Appleton West ) Fofana was first team All Fox Valley in
2007.
G- 6'2 (junior) Rashan
Goodwin ( MN Holy Angels ) Transfer from Lake Region State College
ND
F- 6'5 (freshman ) Michael Mudgett
( Gilman ) Helped lead the Pirates to the state tournament in 2007.
F- 6'5 (freshman) Garrett Ottney
( Glenwood City) Helped lead the Hilltoppers to the state tournament in
2006.
G/F 6'5 (freshman) Augie Saiz
( Wisconsin Dells ) led the South Central Conference in scoring in 2007.
G 6'3 (freshman) Ryan Shea (
Duluth East ) averaged over 20 points a game as a senior for the Greyhounds.

Volleyball and Football practices have begun
for area high school teams.
Shauna Brion
has been hired as the new Mondovi girls basketball coach.
Dave Biller
has been hired as the new boys basketball coach at Winter.
Ron Trunkel
has been hired as the new boys basketball coach at Neillsville.
The UWEC football team is
predicted to finish 7th in the WIAC this season according to the pre-season
WIAC Sports Information Directors poll.
The Green Bay Packers have
signed Chippewa Falls Mcdonell alum Joe Werner to play TE.
The Rochester Giants beat the
Eau Claire Crush 28-7 in the Great Plains League
Championship game at Carson Park.
WEAU-TV sports anchor/reporter Paige
Pearson has departed and is now a sports reporter for WLUK-TV
in Green Bay.

football, some coaches have tabbed Chippewa Falls
as the favorite to take the BRC crown this year.
Finally, The Big Ten Network and
Charter Communications seem ready to talk about putting BTN on the
large cable company's menu of channels. According to the Capital Times the
Big Ten Network is willing to negotiate it's asking price of $1.10 per
subscriber.
