The  Altoona coaching fraternity could have two basketball coaches earning their 100th career win in the same season. Girls basketball coach Scott Harmon earned his 100th win  back on February 9th vs Cadott and Boys basketball coach Andy Riechers can earn his 100th win with a win over Colby on Saturday in the  2nd place cross-over game.

Speaking of Altoona football stand-out and current basketball player Mike Tackmann recently signed a letter of intent to play football at Winona State University which is in Division 2 and has enjoyed sucess on the gridiron over the years. Mike follows in the footsteps of his brother John who also played at Winona State.

Look for ticket sales to be very brisk for Saturday's UWEC vs UW-Stout    WIAC Women's basketball Championship game at Johnson Fieldhouse.  These two teams split their match-ups during the regular season and hopefully will both go to the NCAA tournament. One team will get an automatic bid and the other will sit on pins and needles waiting  on Sunday.

Is anybody surprised there is a big winterstorm coming this weekend with all the high school and college tournament action in full gear?  :)

We'll look at the recently released WIAA boys high school basketball brackets and other stuff in a few days so stay tuned and check out all the high school pairings and WIAC basketball scores and schedules on our homepage.
