Highly coveted recruit John Clay from Racine Park will not play in a Badgers football uniform this fall. The former all-state tailback did not meet NCAA mandated academic requirements to play during the 2007 season for the Badgers.
 
Eau Claire Regis has hired Stu Brown as it's new head football coach. Stu is currently an assistant coach with the Eau Claire Crush semi-pro football team and has been involved with athletics with younger age groups for many years.
 
Eau Claire Regis 2007 graduate Kilian Murphy told West Wisconsin Sports his intentions of playing football for Carleton College in Northfield, MN this fall. You can check out his profile on our homepage.
 
Amery 2006 graduate Joby Davidsavor plans on transferring to UW-Stout this fall and play baseball next year for the Blue Devils.
 
Congratulations are in order for former Middle Border Conference stand out and Amery assistant baseball coach Justin Luehman and his new wife Lisa on their marriage on 07-07-07.
 
Altoona graduate Jeff Fleig finished 5th overall, 3rd amongst all men and first in his age group at last month's Quad Cities Triathlon in Davenport, Iowa. Jeff is currently the assistant principal at La Crosse Central High School.
 
August 30th is the date when the 24 hour/7 days a week Big Ten Network is set to launch. As of this writing DirecTV is the only provider signed up to carry that channel in the Chippewa Valley.
 
Eau Claire North head basketball coach Pat Hammond has retired from teaching in the classroom but will still coach the Huskies for a minimum of  2 more seasons.
 
The Eau Claire American Legion baseball team went 4-0 this past  weekend at the River City Classic which was held at Carson Park.
 
The New Richmond Tigers baseball team has earned the top seed in their sectional for the WIAA summer baseball tournament. They will host the winner of the Augusta vs Frederic Regional game on July 20th.
 
The Osceola Braves seemed to have finally gotten their act together after a horrendous start and are now in first place in the St. Croix Valley League's North Division of the Wisconsin Amatuer Baseball Association.
