Eau Claire North high school football and boys& girls varsity track coach John Phelps has resigned.

Coach Phelps has accepted an offer to become the new principal at Winona Senior High School in Winona , MN . Coach Phelps has been with Eau Claire North for over 25 years. WWS thanks Coach Phelps for all his help this past year and wishes him the best in his new endeavor.

Don’t look for an agreement anytime soon between the brand new Big Ten television network and Charter Communications. Charter is the largest cable provider in the Chippewa Valley . Tucker Carlson who is the director of government relations for Charter Communications told the Minneapolis Star Tribune this week that  they have yet to sit down and have meaningful discussions with the Big Ten Network  about an agreement which would enable Charter to carry the channel. Many Wisconsin Badgers and Minnesota Gophers fans could be left without being able to see their teams if an agreement is not reached between the two sides.

It should also be noted Wisconsin Public Television recently announced it would not broadcast Badgers home games on tape delay this upcoming academic year.

For decades Wisconsin Public Television broadcast Badger football, hockey and men’s and women’s basketball games on a tape delay basis.
