As we shift from winter into spring it is time to say good-bye to the hardwood and hello to area baseball/softball diamonds and golf courses.

Several area golf courses are now open including Pheasant Hills Golf Club in Hammond, WI. Their website is www.pheasanthillsgolf.com and their phone number is 715-796-2500. Ask for Mike when you call and if you mention this website he will take care of you.

Cody Rose of Elmwood who is going to be a walk-on for Coach Bret Bielema at the University of Wisconsin this fall is raising money for Children's hospital of Wisconsin.  He has a web link if you wish to contribute and a personal message. 100% of your contribution will go directly to Children's hospital. The weblink is http://www.firstgiving.com/codyrose  Cody will be participating in the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Star game on July 21st.

Speaking of All-Star games, some of the names who will be participating in the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All-Star game in Madison in June have been leaked to us prior to the rosters being officially released for all 4 divisions.  In Division 2 we know that Marcus Helland-Baldwin-Woodville, Dan Culy-Rice Lake, Kelsey Moreland-Northwestern, Shane Manor-Altoona, Matt Hackl and Marc Liesgang-Seymour will be participants on the North squad. In Division 3 Gary Seifert-Prescott will play for the North squad.

The hottest rumor making the rounds these days is Evan Anderson the 6'11 center from Stanley-Boyd could be transferring to Eau Claire North. This rumor intensified recently when Evan's AAU team the Playground Warriors had Eau Claire North listed as Evan's school on their website. Stay tuned.

Jimmy Thompson of Hayward suffered a hamstring injury last Friday in Hayward's track meet at UM-Duluth and is out indefinitely. No word yet on if this will also sideline his golf game this spring.
