J.J. Hardy, Chris Capuano, and Jeff Suppan of the Milwaukee Brewers are involved in the taping of a future episode of The Young and The Restless this week. They will all reportedly have a speaking role and be closely associated with one of the most popular and nicest actors in daytime television  Peter Bergman. The episode is scheduled to air on June 20th at 11am local time on CBS.
 
Brett Favre in a press conference at Packers mini-camp over the weekend denied a report that he or his agent Bus Cook ever requested a trade from the Green Bay Packers and said he wanted to retire as a Green Bay Packer.
 
UW-Stout athletic director Steve Terry tendered his resignation last week amidst tension between he and Stout chancellor Charles Sorenson. Tensions which were further heightened after a local media report was released that said 6 of the current 58 UW-Stout football players failed an April drug test and are suspended for 1/3rd of the upcoming football season.
 
Harold Mulhern will not be coaching the Durand Panthers boys basketball team next season. His basketball contract was not renewed by the Durand school board at a recent school board meeting. He last led the Panthers to the Middle Border title back in the 2005-2006 season.
 
Eleva-Strum senior Adam Walker will be attending UWEC this fall and his emphasis of study will be in music. Adam was a part of the Eleva-Strum boys basketball team which made it to the state tournament in Madison back in March.
 
Andy Sandelier and Kade Hinker of the Eastern Cloverbelt champion Greenwood Indians baseball team were recently named to the 3rd quarter academic Honor Roll at Greenwood.  The Indians  beat Western Cloverbelt champion Chippewa Falls Mcdonell last week  8-5. 
 
The final WBCA poll of the season has been released and is available for viewing on our homepage. Greenwood finishes right where they began the season at the top of the poll in division 4. Eau Claire North climbed the poll all season long to finish at the top in Division 1.
 
Senior Kristin Pelzel of Hudson recently signed a letter of intent to be on the Marquette track&field team next year. She will also reportedly be on their cross-country team this fall. Pelzel also appears on our West Wisconsin Track Honor Roll.
 
UW-River Falls head basketball coach Jeff Berkhof recently had the "interim" tag removed from his coaching title.
 
Osceola senior Ryan Carlson who played on the 2006 Middle Border Conference champion Chieftains football team and on the 2006-2007 basketball team was recently named co-valedictorian and will attend UW-Madison this fall.
 
The Prescott Pirates of the Wisconsin Baseball Association defeated the Osceola Braves 3-2 in the Braves home opener last Friday. Amery graduate and current Winona State University student Joby Davidsavor showed no rust on the mound for the Braves despite not pitching for the last 9 months. The Braves play Chisago, MN this week.
