Jimmy Thompson ran the fastest 200 meter time in the state of Wisconsin last track season and the second fastest 100 meter time, so it was no surprise when Thompson went 98 yards for the winning score against Spooner last week to get Hayward into the playoffs. In winning 14-7, Thompson had 12 carries for 217 yards and also had another TD run of 75 yards in the game.
Last week, Jimmy nearly led the Hurricanes to an upset of undefeated Ladysmith with a 256 yard performance in a 21-20 loss. Thompson has had 14 touchdown plays of 60 yards or longer over the last two seasons proving to be one of the most dangerous on field players
