Regis moved to 11-1 on the season with a convincing 57-27 Level 3 win over Fennimore last Saturday. The stable of outstanding running backs for the Ramblers include the names of Dan Sailer, Joe Lorenz, Marco Ortiz, Alex Wolfe, Bobby Mickelson and others but the heart of the team is the consistent blocking of the offensive line. While teams line up with 9 and 10 man fronts, the no names up front open up hole after hole in the Ramblers powerful double wing offense.
Coach Bryant Brenner showed how confident he was in the line when he decided to go for it on fourth and 1 from the Regis 16 yard line on their first
possession of the game. An 11 yard run picked up the first down and led to an eventual touchdown as the Ramblers flexed their muscle and Fennimore never recovered. 65 rushes and 473 yards rushing later, Regis was advancing to a Level 4 playoff game. The Ramblers will take on Racine Lutheran in Baraboo on Saturday at 1:00 with a win advancing to the finals next
Thursday at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison. |
