After Randolph jumped into the lead at 7-0 early in the second quarter, Cody Rosemeyer knew it was time to make something happen. Pushing into the end zone from 5 yards out at the 7:27 mark to tie the game at 7, Cody then nabbed a 33 yard strike from Jameson Szemraj 3 minutes later to give the Pirates the lead at half. Rosemeyer opened the second half scoring on a 7 yard run, giving Gilman a two touchdown lead and seemingly control of the game. Randolph had no quit in them as they roared back with back to back scores to trail 21-20 early in the fourth. Midway through the fourth, Rosemeyer ripped off a 54 yard TD run to give Gilman the edge they needed to win. The Pirates needed every one of Cody's 273 yards of offense and 4 TDs to win by a final of 34-26. Next up in Madison is high scoring Catholic Central in a game that has all the indications of being a shootout to the very end. Both teams have recent state championship tradition so this game is a toss up.
