Menomonie gave notice that the Big Rivers power is ready to rumble into the 2011 season as the Indians crushed Tomah 56-26 at Tomah. The offense was the story of the game as Menomonie put up 658 yards with a balanced 344 on the ground and 314 through the air. Leading the offense was senior quarterback Neico Stokke, who threw for a school record 314 yards while completing 17 of 19 passes for 2 TDs. Equally impressive was the all around effort of senior running back Drew Otto. Otto rushed for 3 TDs (11, 37, 37) and 210 yards on only 12 carries while also gathering 6 receptions for 96 yards. Otto wasn't done as he turned around on defense and picked off two passes as well. Coach Joe LaBuda knows it will take supreme efforts like this each week against tough conference play to win the Big Rivers.
