Game Result: Bloomer 39, Cumberland 12
Bloomer entered last Friday's game at Cumberland tied with the Beavers atop the HON standings at 3-0. Cumberland was ranked as high as fifth in state D4 polls and were averaging 47 points a game behind all everything back Brady Rose. By the end of the evening, the Blackhawks had emerged with a decisive 39-12 win and control of the conference. Behind a pounding running game, the Blackhawks dominated the line of scrimmage on offense and, on defense, held Rose to a measly 29 yards rushing after Rose had put together back to back games of 267 and 321 yards. Bloomer backs Levi Nayes and Jeremy Seibel each had big games, with Nayes getting 150 yards on 30 carries with 2 TDs and Seibel running for 142 grinding yards from his fullback spot and added 3 TDs. Nayes, the HON track champion in the 100, 200 and 400 meters, now has 794 yards rushing on the season, as he closes in on the 1000 yard mark. Seibel, a 5'11" 230 pound fullback, put up his second hundred yard rushing game, but just as important, was the key in shutting down Brady Rose and the Beavers running game from his middle linebacker position.
