Week 9
- For Games Played Week of October 10th - October 16th, 2011 -
Week 9, 2011
Blair - Taylor
Defense
 Game Result: Blair-Taylor 35, Whitehall 7
Season Record: 9-0 (Champions of the Dairyland Conference)
It takes a team to win football games and sometimes individuals can certainly be the difference but this week Blair Taylor's highly opportunistic defense lived up to expectations and shut down the potent offense of Whitehall in their 35-7 win. Jake Pientok came into the game as the area's second leading rusher for Whitehall but after scoring the first touchdown of the game from 25 yards, he was completely held in check the rest of the way in the battle of Dairyland unbeatens. The dagger to the heart came midway through the third quarter when Travis Guenther picked off a pass and returned it 20 yards for the score. This turned a tight 14-7 contest into a 20-7 cushion and the Wildcats were in control the remainder of the game. If you are a follower of B-T football, a defensive score was nothing new as this ball hawking eleven has turned in several scores this season while only giving up 79 points. This type of play makes the Wildcats one of the favorites in D6 to make it to Madison.
