Game Result: Eau Claire Memorial 54, River Falls 14
Eau Claire Memorial just will not go away. The Old Abes have fought their way back into playoff contention after last week's 54-14 drubbing of River Falls. Leading the way for Memorial was 5'8" running back Aaron Faacks with a career high 272 yards on 19 carries. Faacks has been effective all season when healthy and now stands at 726 yards on the season. QB Ben Everhart has absorbed the pressure on the offense in most games but it appears now that Faacks can balance the offense with his running. The Abes must win the last two games on their schedule to qualify for the playoffs and that starts with a trip to Rice Lake. The Warriors have been snake bit all season with injuries and odd plays at the wrong time finally eliminating them from the post season picture. But Rice Lake and North have nothing to lose and knocking Memorial out of the playoffs would be a small saving grace for their up and down seasons.
