Isaac Tuttle has garnered most of the attention with his dynamic numbers this season but quietly Jeff Kopacz has been the anchor that has put the defending state champs back in the title game. In the Level 4 semifinal against Pittsville, it was Kopacz taking the pressure off of Tuttle with 157 yards rushing and 1 TD while adding another score among his 3 receptions for the Hilltoppers in their 48-26 slugfest win. That victory propelled Glenwood City back into the D7 title game on Thursday against Black Hawk. Kopacz has put up solid numbers this season with 1340 yards rushing for 12 TDs and 15 catches for 320 yards and 5 TDs but his defensive presence has been every bit as valuable for the Hilltoppers during the regular season and playoffs. When the Hilltoppers take on the offensive minded Black Hawk team in the title game, Kopacz will be worth watching on both sides of the ball and will be key to bringing home a second golden ball in two years for Glenwood City.
