Rice Lake is an option offense running team. Known for running backs with blazing speed and the ability to score on anyone, the leader of the Warrior offense is a quarterback who has thrown for over 1200 yards and 11 TDs on the season while also rushing for 558 yards and 13 TDs. Last Friday, Scheurer was at it again with a 10-13 passing performance for 189 yards and 2 TDs in Rice Lake's 41-0 win over Merrill. Teams that normally load the box, now run the risk of Scheurer toasting them over the top to state sprint champion Kenny Bednarek. That kind of pressure attack makes Rice Lake a threat to run the table in their bracket and maybe all the way to Madison. Level 2 foe La Crosse Logan stopped Hayward, but this offense is a whole different animal. Look for Scheurer to keep putting up similar numbers as long as the Warriors keep winning.
