| The bruising senior FB has stepped up his game
in the post season. In Level 4 play, Refsnider pounded the inside for 189 yards
on 22 carries against a highly favored Little Chute team. Against defending
state champ Osceola in Level 2, Refsnider ran for 157 yards and 3 TDs to end the
Chieftains winning streak and hopes of repeating. SCC has incredible momentum
going into the state championship game. Thought to be a state title contender in
the preseason, SCC losing 3 out of four in the middle of the schedule had almost
everyone writing the Panthers off for post season play. Everybody except head
coach Tony DiSalvo. Coach DiSalvo has done a masterful job as the Panthers
needed to beat conference champions in the first three levels and then an
outstanding Little Chute squad last week. One last chance to prove to everyone
that they are the real deal, SCC will join Osceola and Somerset as recent state
champs out of the Middle Border with a win over River Valley. |
