Game Result: Rice Lake 60, Eau Claire Memorial 35
The defending D3 champion Warriors moved to 3-0 with a 60-35 win over EC Memorial last week. QB Peyton Buckley was masterful once again in directing Rice Lake's midline offense, rushing for 146 yards and 2 TDs while throwing for 212 yards and 4 TDs. Buckley had similar numbers in last year's state title win over Eisenhower so there is no doubt he can lead the Warriors to big things in the post season. Winning the Big Rivers is another thing. Last year Rice Lake finished third and a likely fate awaits them this season in conference play. The league is so strong that Rice Lake knows they just need to compete each week and stay the course in the playoffs. If anyone can lead the Warriors to a repeat state title, it is Peyton Buckley.
